Group leader, Dr. med. Stephan Böse-O´Reilly leads the working group paediatric environmental epidemiology. He is a paediatrician and master of public health (MPH) with a special degree in environmental medicine. Since 1998 he was involved in the planning and implementation of over 10 successful mercury related international environmental health projects in Africa and Asia. Health assessment and training, as well as networking including intergovernmental agencies are his main area of interest He is a member of the chair board of International Network Children’s Health Environment and Safety (INCHES) and as such involved in the ongoing WHO process of Environment and Health in Europe. He was involved in the EU projects PINCHE and Climate TRAP

Expertise: Paediatrician, Master of Public Health, environmental medicine, mercury, environmental epidemiology, teaching, networking, collaboration with international organisations

Role in the project: Group leader for LMU (WP20); leading WP18 (training HEALS methodology); focusing on the public health dimension of HEALS, esp. the health outcome endpoints for children (WP4, WP15, WP17)
