Group leader, Leondios Leondiadis M.Sc., Ph.D. Research Director (Researcher A) and Head of the Mass Spectrometry and Dioxin Analysis Laboratory at NCSR “Demokritos”. He holds a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Ioannina (1986). He received his DEA (Diplome d’Etudes Approfondies) in Organic Chemistry in 1988 from the Universite de Paris-Sud, Orsay, France and his PhD (These de Doctorat) in Science de la Vie – Chimie in 1991 from the same University. In 1999 he acquired a permanent research positionin NCSR “Demokritos”. In 2000 he founded the Mass Spectrometry and Dioxin Analysis Laboratory. He is member of the board of the Hellenic Mass Spectrometry Society, founder member of the Hellenic Peptide Society , inspector of the National Accreditation Body and reviewer in numerous international journals. He lectures undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Chemistry Department of University of Athens. has more than 60 research publications in international peer-reviewed journals and is co-inventor in one international patent.
Expertise: Analytical chemist. Trace analysis of environmental pollutants in food, feed, biological fluids and air samples by mass spectrometry techniques.
